1: 傷病手当金について/ Sickness and Injury Benefits

健康保険の制度の一つで、傷病による欠勤が続き無給になった場合に、従業員とその家族の生活保障のため給与のおよそ2/3が支給（減給の場合はその差額）されるというもの。病気（新型コロナウイルス、インフルエンザ等）だけでなく、骨折などの大怪我で入院した時や、うつ病などの精神疾患で休職せざるを得ない場合にも支給されます。有給扱いの病欠で対応し切れず、有給休暇も使い切ってしまった場合に活用しましょう。

This is a health insurance benefit. For prolonged unpaid absenteeism due to injury or illness, about two-thirds of the salary will be paid from the health insurance association to help the employees and their families. It is paid not only for illnesses (COVID-19, influenza, etc.) but also for those who are hospitalized due to a serious injury such as a broken bone or who have to take a leave of absence due to mental illness such as depression. We will be suggesting using this benefit if you have already exhausted your paid leave and paid sick leave days.

2: 傷病手当金の支給要件（全て満たす必要があります）/ Eligibility

(1)病気やケガにより療養のため、労務不能であること　

医師の指示による療養であれば、入院・通院を問いません。労務不能は、病気やケガのために　今まで従事していた仕事ができない場合をいいます。

(2)業務外での病気やケガの療養のための休業であること　

業務上や通勤中の事故によるものは、労災保険の給付対象となります。　あくまで、業務外で起こったケガや病気(精神疾患も含む)が傷病手当金の支給対象です。

(3)4日以上仕事を休んでいること　

仕事が出来ない状態になり、仕事を3日間連続して休んだ後の4日目以降の分が支給されます。　この3日間は仮病による受給を防ぐための待期期間であり、有給休暇、土日・祝日等の公休日も　含んで数えます。

(4)休んだ期間に給与がもらえないこと　

会社から給与が支払われている間は、傷病手当金の対象とはなりません。ただし、給与が支給される　場合でもその額が傷病手当金よりも少ない場合に限り、差額が支給されます。

3: 手続き/ Procedures

協会けんぽの申請用紙を記入し、協会けんぽ支部へ郵送します。審査がスムーズに進めば早くて２週間で指定した口座に傷病手当金が振り込まれます。なお、仕事に就けない状態にあることを証明するため、診察した医師に申請書の一部を記入してもらう必要があります。また、会社にも欠勤状況、給与情報を証明するため、申請書の一部に記入してもらう必要があります。

Please download the application form from the homepage of the Japan Health Insurance Association, print it, and mail the completed application form. If the examination goes smoothly, it will be transferred to your bank account within 2 weeks at the earliest. The application form must be filled in with "proof of incapacity to work" by a "medical institution". In addition, the employer must fill in the "certificate of non-payment of salary due to absence".
